Wow! What a crazy week this has been!! I’m so glad that Friday is here because that means that when Eric gets home from work today, his EIGHT DAY vacation starts! We leave for Canada on Sunday morning to see my family in British Columbia. So today, I am especially loving this Friday for that reason. So let’s start!
1. Fall Décor
Yep, go ahead and judge me, I’m one of THOSE people. I got all my fall decorations out on Monday/Tuesday and went to work. Now our home is a glowing fall getaway. The happiest place in my house at this moment is my kitchen sink for this reason:
2. Mulled Cider Candle
OK, so I am also a sucker for the perfect fall scented candle, and I love all the fall scents at Yankee, but they can get so dang expensive! A friend of mine recommended Wal-mart’s Mulled Cider scent a couple of years ago and I’ve never looked back since. They are out of this world affordable and it makes you melt inside when you get a whiff of it. Go and get one. You can go ahead and thank me now, it will save you time later 🙂
3. Johnson County Fair
I have been looking forward to taking Nora to the fair this year for months, so when my in-laws came in town this week, I knew an evening trip to the fair ground were a must! We went and scoped out all of the 4-H animals and scarfed down some corndogs and funnel cakes. I loved the fair growing up, but it’s so much BETTER with a baby!
4. Our Land
I posted earlier this week about our trip back home, and our future land has been on my mind since we left Nebraska. Things are really starting to get real with this whole moving thing, as we are planning on meeting with the bank in September to go over our loans. EEKK!! It’s really happening!! If you want to read more about why we have chosen to move back to farm you can read all about that here.
5. Work
I was able to go in and work yesterday at the clinic, and for the first time since having Nora, I really enjoyed being back in the office. Granted, I’ve only worked about 5 mornings since having her, but yesterday was the first day that I was there (all day, too!) and wasn’t worrying about her every moment I was there. I got to see/talk to lots of patients that we have treated for years, but also had the sad reality of the patients that we had lost or progressed since I worked last. Yesterday was also the first day that I realized how much I really loved my job and the people in that clinic. I wouldn’t change a thing about staying at home with Nora, but it made me grateful for the 5 full time years I did have there. If you want to read more about my decision to be a SAHM, you can read about that decision here.
So there you have it! Happy, happy Friday bloggy friends! And happy vacation to me and my family!! Canada here we come, God save the Queen, Eh? and all that jazz :)

I absolutely love that Fall tree…so cute! I had a friend growing up and her mom always had a 'Christmas' tree up, but it was themed with whatever holiday was coming up!
