We were extremely blessed to be able to spend 5 whole days in KC for Thanksgiving this year. So many times, the short weekends just aren’t enough time to spend time with the family, see friends and get everything crammed in that we want, but this week we were able to do just that and STILL feel like we had some down time (enough time for Eric to even work on our books/taxes!). It was a great week back home 🙂
We started off the week celebrating my mom’s birthday at her favorite, Olive Garden, and then her having surgery to remove a uterine polyp the next day. Due to some heart complications, she was there most of the day Tuesday, but was able to be released later that night. We just got the news back on her pathology yesterday that everything was benign and looked good. Praise God for that!
Post surgery means lots of down time for baby Andi snuggles
Nora has been super into Frozen as of late, so Hammie decided to take her to build her own Olaf
There is nothing quite like being home to eat my Dad’s turkey and stuffing
Nora has only fallen asleep three times in her little life while playing or watching TV. It’s so rare that I’ve captured it in pictures every time. Sweet girl had too much turkey and Frozen 🙂
And of course we stopped in a couple of times to see my Grandma. My Aunt and Uncle also came to visit for a while when we were there
We have a tradition in my parent’s house of putting up the tree on Thanksgiving night
Uncle Yeah Yeah and Hammie gave Nora a hand in getting the star on top of the tree
My sweet girl in her Elf jammies
All of us LOVED having Eric with us for a whole week. It was absolutely glorious to say the least
Mom and Dad took us out to Pinstripes one night for some fun shopping and great eating. It was a blast! If your in KC and haven’t been down to Prairie Fire, your missing out big time!
Watching Frozen…again
It was absolutely beautiful outside on Saturday, so Nora took to the backyard and did some exploring with LuLu before we left for Bass Pro to see Santa
If there is a carousel, Nora will find it and ride it as many times as humanly possible. Silly girl!
And to round out our trip, for your viewing pleasure….Nora and Andi visiting Santa. And Nora completely melting down.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
