The past few months have been crazy busy! So busy that I completely overlooked poor Andi Joy’s monthly update. Sweet girl, you are not forgotten!
Weight: I honestly have no clue, maybe around 20 pounds? But she is so massive, seriously. My arms and wrists hurt by the end of the day.
Clothing: 12 months, size 2 shoes and size 4 diapers. We currently have to cut the arm holes on her shirts so her arms can fit….. So there’s that.
Milestones: Just after she turned 6 months, Andi started crawling. She did a hop-crawl move for a few days then it was full out crawling. Not long after that she started trying to pull herself up on anything she could. She fell a lot, but cried seldom, so she continued trying and now she practically RUNS up furniture and toys. She can stand for really long periods of time and hold on with just one hand. We have multiple small pencils and stools and loves to push them around on the hard wood floors and walk. I think she may be walking independently before we know it! She also started waving this past week…. cutest fat wave ever!
Teeth: Andersyn cut two teeth just yesterday! She has had no fevers, but has been taking some longer naps during the day and has been a bit groggy during the day. Tylenol, Motrin and sucking on ice has helped tremendously, along with her Amber teething necklace.
Food: After doing about a month of baby food, we started doing baby led eating with our sweet girl. She loves bananas, any type of potatoes, zucchini, carrots, Cheerios, applesauce and of course tastes of ice cream 🙂 She continues to nurse on demand through the day, usually around every 3-4 hours with 2 snacks of Cheerios in between meals. We are currently trying to work on cutting out one middle of the night feeding. Girl friend still gets up twice a night to eat. Oink. Oink.
Sickness: Andersyn (and Nora) both had strep, hand/mouth/foot and thrush over Easter weekend….which also happened to be the weekend we moved. To say it was a long couple of weeks would be an understatement. But Andi really did great. She took her medicine well and continued to nurse great even though her poor little mouth was full of sores. I am happy to say that we have all been sickness free since then 🙂
Likes: Andersyn loves to be outside! Whether she is swinging, walking around in the Bjorn or sitting out on our front porch, she loves to be out in the sunshine and watching the world around her. The girls started taking baths together this month, and that has been a HUGE hit as well! Andi loves to eat and play with her big sister Nora. She loves climbing on people and furniture and enjoys seeing/petting my in-laws and parents dogs, Lucy and LuLu. Andi has a lot of people around her who love her very much and goes to people well, as long as I am in eye shot. She still uses her pacifier and MUST sleep with a fan on at night and only in a onsie. She has ticklish spots on her sides and under her neck and squeals with delight any time you tickle or nibble those areas. And boy is she nibbleable!
Dislikes: Our girl does not enjoy being away from Mama. While she is getting better, being away from her is hard. She prefers my consolation by far compared to any other person and that makes getting away for an evening or running errands alone difficult, but we are working on it. She does not enjoy diaper changes or getting dressed and is just not a fan of being confined in general. She does ok in the car, but the car seat is not her favorite thing.
Personality: Andi has really come into her own the past couple of months. She is SUCH a sweet baby and is so inquisitive! She loves to sit and watch what’s going on around her and while she can be squirmy at times, she enjoys being still. She loves to cuddle and be close to those she loves and is a big sucker for people who smile and play peek-a-boo with her. She is a warm, fat, rolly little bundle of love.
